Will Graves goes under the knife

Will Graves

If James McAdoo comes to UNC we could say that head coach Roy Williams will not have a depth problem as far as the bigs are concerned. That is a good thing, but, hearing the news that Will Graves had ankle surgery to remove scar tissue in his right ankle brings up what could definitely be another problem, and maybe a lot bigger than missing front court men, in my eyes. Coach Williams once again has a ton of talent donning the Carolina Blue, but do will he have the senior leadership to lead them through a tough non conference schedule and then the ACC? Graves could be that guy, but he needs to be 100% and be on the floor as much as possible to be an effective leader. Let’s be honest here, Marcus Ginyard was supposed to be the senior leader last year, but with all of his injuries he was not able to take control as much as he could have. I am hoping this does not happen again in the coming season.

Graves, who started all but two games last year, is supposed to be out about 4 to 6 weeks according to coach Williams. As I do with all the Tar Heels let me wish the quickest of recovery to the young man and that he may have a great senior year in the `10-`11 season.
