UNC will play in the `09 Coaches vs Cancer

Looking around I found on the ACC Now site a small post about North Carolina being one of the four teams that will be hosting the regional site of the 2009 Coaches versus Cancer. The other three schools to hold a site will be California (Pac 10), Syracuse (Big East) and Ohio State (Big Ten). Along with these four teams the tournament will have another eight squads (who I believe haven’t been chosen yet), and each regional site will play in a round robin fashion, with each team playing 2 games and the hosts being garuanteed to move on to the Championship round.

From what the small post I see that the tournament will have it’s first phase from November 9th to the 13th, while the Championship round, which will be held at the mecca of basketball, Madison Square Garden, will be November 19th and 20th. The match ups for that part of the tournament will be announced later on. One thing I like is that all of the teams will be able to get four games, which means that they are going to get good competition at the beginning of the season.
