As the saying goes “it’s good to be home again”. This is probably what Tyler Deric, who was a goalkeeper for Elmar Bolovich’s soccer team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, must be saying as the native of Spring, Tx is now going to be part of the the Houston Dynamo. From a small online article I was sent it says that the now 20 years old Deric, who should have signed with his new squad yersterday, started his career with the Houston Dynamo’s Youth Academy.

It is less than 25 miles from Spring to Houston, so this is definitely a home coming for the ex Heel keeper. Furthermore, from what the article said, the young man is the first ever member of the Youth Academy to now become part of the senior squad. From what I have read, Devic should be in full uniform for today’s scrimmage against the Montreal Impact.

From another small online blog the newest member of the Houston Dynamo said: “It’s really a dream come true,” Deric, 20, said. “Every pro athlete as a kid always thinks of playing for their home team. I was the biggest Dynamo fan even before I signed with the Academy.”

I wish the young man all the best in this new adventure in the pro’s, and I am sure we will hear more about him as the season goes on. I also have to say that it was weird to write a small post about a Ty or Tyler who isn’t on the basketball team!
