Continuing with the post “Top of the Hill: Best running back in North Carolina” we are going to check up on another three of the top players from the Old North state. You can check the first part of this post here, where we spoke about Robert Crisp, Victor Hampton and Gabe King. The first two players in this group have already committed, Crisp to N.C. State and Hampton to Florida. In this part of the post none of the players have yet decided where they will be playing, but all have North Carolina has one of their teams. So, without any more interruptions, let’s get to part two of this post…
The first player we are going to look at is Keenan Allen (6’2″/194 lbs.), who right now Scout has him as a four star recruit and the 8th best safety in the land, while Rivals (also a 4 star recruit) has him the fifth best athlete in the land. Allen, who is from Northern Guilford HS in Greensboro (2nd player from Top of the Hill to be from Greensboro), is looking at about seventeen schools, of which 15 of them have extended an offer to the young man. At ESPN they classify him as an athlete as well and have him in the Top150. From the ACC all four colleges from North Carolina have offered Allen, as well as Clemson. Other big time programs, such as Tennessee, Michigan, West Virginia and Alabama are also competing in getting the young man to their school. In a piece that was written by BamaOnLine it seems that the young man has Alabama and Clemson as his leaders right now.
The second player on today’s post is Alfy Hill, a 6’4″/245 defensive end from West Brunswich in Shallotte. Hill is the second DE to be in “Top of the Hill: best running back in North Carolina”, with Gabe King being the first one. Scout ranks Alfy Hill as the 23rd best player at his position (4 star recruit), while Rivals gives him four stars, and has him as the ninth best player at the position. Over at the world leaders in sports says that Hill is also a Top150 player for the 2010 Class. In all there are fifteen schools that have extended a Letter of Intent to Alfy Hill, of which six of the are from the ACC (UNC, Clemson, Duke, Maryland, NC State and Va Tech).
The last player of the day is middle line backer Kendall Moore (6’2″/234 lbs.) from Southeast Raleigh HS in Raleigh. He is the first player only achieving three stars from Scout, who sees him as the 18th ranked player at his position. On the other hand Rivals has the young man still as a four star recruit and as the 14th best at his position. At ESPN they say that he will be a good prospect, wherever he will go. And where he might go is right now set at 16 teams of which UNC, Clemson, Duke, Maryland, NC State and Wake Forest are the ACC schools. East Carolina is another choice for the young man as well as LSU, Notre Dame, S Carolina and Tennessee.
