As I have promised I would do on a regular basis, I am here once again going over the NBA mock drafts to see what they are saying when it comes to Tyler Hansbrough, Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington and Danny Green. In this week’s edition I checked the six most recent mock drafts (some have both rounds and a couple just have the 1st round only). Here is this week’s look at what the mock drafts (click on their name to see their whole mock draft) are saying about the four national champions from North Carolina:
Sports2Debate (S2D): Updated 04/12 (both rounds)
Binary Basketball (BB): Updated 04/11 (1st round only)
Hoops World (HW): Updated 04/11 (both rounds)
The Hoops Report (THR): Updated 04/11 (both rounds)
College Hoops Update (CHU): Updated 04/10 (1st round only)
Draft Express (DX): Updated 04/10 (both rounds)
Tyler Hansbrough:
S2D: 40th
BB: 26th
HW: 24th
THR: 26th
CHU: 30th
DX: 27th
Ty Lawson:
S2D: 12th
BB: 17th
HW: 14th
THR: 19th
CHU: 14th
DX: 12th
Wayne Ellington:
S2D: 49th
BB: 25th
HW: 31st
THR: 28th
CHU: 27th
DX: 29th
Danny Green:
S2D: 45th
BB: N/A
HW: N/A
THR: 48th
CHU: N/A
DX: 36th
I have to say that seeing Danny Green not making many mock drafts just makes me scratch my head. I would have said that after what he did during the last part of the regular season and the post season should have gotten him into any and all mock drafts. If anything this season should have taught anyone following the senior swingman is that with a good point guard he can be deadly from the outside.
On the positive side it seems that most people are seeing Ty Lawson as a lottery pick, something I think he deserves. As far as Wayne Ellington and Tyler Hansbrough, I believe are both late first rounders. Of course this can all still change as more student-athletes put their name into the draft, or take it back out.
