The schedule has been released

As we get ready for the football team, or what part of it, to take the field versus LSU in Atlanta the offical web site for UNC, TarHeelBlue.com, has released the basketball team’s full schedule for the upcoming season. One thing comes to mind as soon as you see the schedule for head coach’s team: it’s not a pushover one, but it does not seem as hard as it was last season. Sure, going to Illinois, taking on Kentucky and having to deal with Texas are no easy games, and maybe I am overreaching here, but they seem to be placed in the schedule in a less stressful way then the OOC games were in 2009. I am not going to get into the complete schedule and what I think of it until the season comes closer, for now I am going to say that I think this team can handle this schedule and take care of business if they play the way that a Carolina squad is expected.

And that means it’s going to do a lot with the new comers to Chapel Hill and with the two big men remaining from last year: John Henson and Tyler Zeller. In the end I think that this is definitely going to be a bounce back year for the squad and we are all going to be greatly surprised, even more so that a lot of the “high reaching” fans that UNC have. However I am not sure all of that means that this team will be ready for another Elite Eight/Final Four run. But, as the old saying goes, only time will tell and that means we have about two months to wait until the first tip off. What is great, especially for someone like me that lives so far away from Chapel Hill, all the games will be on the tube, and that means I will be able to watch my squad play from early November until the beginning of March when UNC and Duke will face off in the final game of the regular season on CBS.
