Now in catch up mode for my (not so) daily post about the ex Diamond Heels in the Pro’s, here is the second edition for today of “Heels in the League” (MLB). Not as good of an overall performance as the last outing for the ex North Carolina players. On the other hand in this edition we see the only pitcher in the Big Leagues getting an inning of action and doing ok for his squad. This and much more, on The Fifth Corner, in this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) for the games from August 24, 2009…

As promised in my last post, here is a link (of many) about the Ackley signing with the Seattle Mariners and another about the Cleveland Indians and Alex White coming to terms. And while these two ex Heels are now in the Pro’s several have decided to come back to Chapel Hill for another season. After you have checked out those links, check out the recaps for all the ex Diamond Heels from last night, in this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB). I will probably write a post about the two newest pro’s today (or in the days to come), so make sure to check that out as well.

A pretty good day for the ex UNC batters as most that got to the plate had at least one hit, with several of them having extra base hits. As far as the arms that once pitched in Chapel Hill not much to report, as just one of the ex Diamond Heels got to the mound, and he didn’t even see a full inning.
Once again the head to head match up between two ex Diamond Heels in the Majors doesn’t come to fruition as the pitcher in this one does not get to see any action. For that matter only one of the three ex Heels in the Big Leagues got to play today. In the minors not much to report besides a double header in Double A which has the ex UNC player going 0 for 6. All of this and much more is in this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB).
On this date the ex Diamond Heels had some positives (with a minor leaguer getting his first save of the year) and some not so positives (with three Double A batters going 1 for 14 at the plate). But you be the judge and check out this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) from July 10, 2009.
Very small schedule in the Majors, as just one (out of the four players in the MLB) was in action today. Thing being is that he probably would have liked to be off as well, as his team lost on the night and he did not fare well at the plate. In the minors nothing special, with the exceptions being one ex Diamond Heel going yard while another getting a double and triple.
