Here is the run down for the ex Diamond Heels now in Major League Baseball. In all there were two teams with ex UNC players in action, see how they did

Trying to work as quick as possible to get all the posts about the ex Heels in the Pro’s here is the next edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) for the games from April 5, 2010 (which is bringing me closer and closer to being all caught up with this daily post). For the complete run down of the games from 04/05/10 you can check out ESPN’s Scoreboard Page. In all on this day two of the teams (out of four) are in action and so let’s check out this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLS) for the games from 04/05/10…

The first game of the night has the Florida Marlins (NL East) starting a three game series with the New York Mets (NL East) at Citi Field in a divisional showdown. For the Marlins we should be seeing pitcher Andrew Miller but he didn’t take the mound in this one. As far as the game was concerned it was NY winning this one big time, defeating Florida by the final of 7 to 1.

The second game of the night is a match up between the Colorado Rockies (NL West) and the Milwaukee Brewers (NL Central) played at Miller Park in front of a crowd of 45,808. For the Rockies it’s catcher Chris Iannetta, who starts and goes 0 for 2 with two walks in the game, As far as the game was concerned it was Colorado winning this one, defeating Milwaukee by the final tally of 5 to 3.

Now in catch up mode for my (not so) daily post about the ex Diamond Heels in the Pro’s, here is the second edition for today of “Heels in the League” (MLB). Not as good of an overall performance as the last outing for the ex North Carolina players. On the other hand in this edition we see the only pitcher in the Big Leagues getting an inning of action and doing ok for his squad. This and much more, on The Fifth Corner, in this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) for the games from August 24, 2009…

Due to many things both online and real life, including one that will be shown to all of you in the next few days this (not so) daily post is once again in trouble of falling so behind it’s not funny. So, be sure to check out The Fifth Corner several times today/tomorrow/Sunday as I will make an attempt to catch it all up. For now enjoy this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) for the games from August 23, 2009 where there were plenty of good perfomances by ex Diamond Heels both in the Majors and in the minors.

Not a great day for the batters from Chapel Hill as they went 3 for 18 overall, while the two ex North Carolina pitchers who took to the mound gave up two runs (one apiece) in 6.1 innings pitched combined, unfortunately one of them got the loss during his outing, while the other gave up a run in his inning on the rubber. All of that and much more in this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) for the games from August 22, 2009.
A pretty good day for the ex Diamond Heels, for the hitters, as most getting at least a hit, while the ex Carolina pitchers did not see any action. Great day for a Big Leaguer, who got two homers on the night as well as three RBIs. As the summer slowly goes away some of the UNC players seem to be heating up for the final stretch of the season. And it’s all right here, on The Fifth Corner, in this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) for the games from August 21, 2009…

All I can say in this recap, thank goodness for the couple that did play, cause between the rain out and many, many not playing this small recap would have been hard to do. However, as well all know, if there is just one player to talk about there is going to be a “Heels in the League” (MLB) to talk about it (or give you the small run down). One bright side: there was an ex Diamond Heel that hit his second homer in just as many games. Check it all out in this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) for the game from July 20, 2009…

Short edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) this evening (due to the time). However be sure that tomorrow all the ex Diamond Heels will be featured once again. Overall not a bad day for the batters that arrived from Chapel Hill, while none of the ex UNC pitchers got any action on the day. Stay tuned, either tomorrow or over the weekend, for an update on both Dustin Ackley and Alex White as I have procured an interview with a Indians’ blog for the latter.
As promised in my last post, here is a link (of many) about the Ackley signing with the Seattle Mariners and another about the Cleveland Indians and Alex White coming to terms. And while these two ex Heels are now in the Pro’s several have decided to come back to Chapel Hill for another season. After you have checked out those links, check out the recaps for all the ex Diamond Heels from last night, in this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB).
A very good day for the ex Diamond Heels as many batters got extra base hits and the pitchers that got some action did well. It's all right here on this edition of Heels in the League

Not much to report from the Majors as just one out of the three ex Diamond Heels got to see any action, while in the minors plenty of good performances from the plate, with an ex Carolina player hitting a homer and a double and many others getting good cuts at the plate. All of that an much more in this edition of “Heels in the League” (MLB) for the game from July 15, 2009. If you check the minors you will see that almost all the teams in Single A won their games, something that should also be satisfying to anyone following the ex Tar Heels in the Pro’s.
