Reyshawn Terry
Another ex Tar Heel is headed overseas to play basketball this year. In this case it is Reyshawn Terry, who was drafted in the second round (44th overall) by the Orlando Magic in 2007 and then traded to the Dallas Mavericks on draft night. The 6’8″ forward played for the Mavs’ summer league in both `07 and `08, but for the most part has made a living with teams in the Euro League. Before signing with Air Avellino this year Terry played in the Summer League with the Portland Trail Blazers squad where he averaged 6.3 PPG and 5.8 RPG. Now with his new team, which plays in the Italian A1 league, will mark the second stint for the 26 year old with a top tier Italian team, the other having been Virtus Bologna.
As usually let me wish this Tar Heel all the best as he heads to Italy for his next professional season. And of course I will keep an eye on him as the year progresses.
