Peppers a Bear

That didn’t take long. Julius Peppers and the Chicago Bears struck a deal and now the ex Carolina Panther will be a very rich man, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweets that the veteran DE is going to be paid $ 40 million for the first three years of a six year deal. For a team like the Bears, known for its defense, getting Peppers, who has been one of the best at what he does, having 81 sacks since `02, they have to be hoping the Tar Heel lives up to his standards and can make his presence felt from day one. Peppers was not the only signing for this team who needs to rebound from the `09 season, and I believe their fan base has to be happy to have gotten the defensive lineman on their squad for the 2010-11 season. As I do with all the Tar Heels let me wish Julius Peppers all the best as he begins his new football chapter with the Chicago Bears.
