No news is bad news for Hansbrough
From the Indianapolis Star comes more not so good news about Tar Heel and Indiana Pacers Tyler Hansbrough. To cut to the chase it’s pretty simple: the team is not expecting the lottery pick to come back this season. The power forward from Poplar Bluff, Mo. has been fighting an inner ear infection and/or a concussion. But reading the online article as of right now the diagnosis for the young man a mystery, and that alone can not be good. When this all started, over two months ago, all were saying that it was an inner ear infection, then, about fourteen days ago, the Pacers head coach added that it could be a concussion. The rookie said this of the whole thing:
“It could be a combination of those two. We’re not really sure,” Hansbrough said.
And then went on to talk about how he is feeling about the situation:
“It really is miserable for me to be dealing with this injury,” Hansbrough said recently. “I’ve never had an injury like this where it’s kept me out a long time. It’s something I’m trying to get over and get healthy.”
For the years I have followed Tyler Hansbrough, who has averaged 8.5 PPG, 4.8 RPG 1.0 APG while playing 17.6 MinsPG in 29 games, I know this must be killing him as he is definitely not one to want to sit around while his team mates are playing. Even more so if they are not winning, something that the Pacers (23 and 46) haven’t done that much of this season. However, taking this off the court for a moment, and thinking about the health issues, I have to say it concerns me that after 10 weeks no one has figured out what the young man’s issues are. Is it the inner ear infection, is it a concussion, or as Hansbrough says, is it a combination of both?
I truly hope that someone figures it out as quickly as possible and in the meantime let me wish all the best to Tyler Hansbrough as he waits his next step in this ordeal.
