No Heels in All-ACC teams

(A hat tip to AunteeL for tweeting this piece of information) More bad news for the Men’s basketball team as they failed to have a player make the All-ACC teams for the first time in the conference’s history. This is something that should be both a negative for this year and a positive for years to come as it will be up to the next squad to get back on the all conference squads. Now, there is no doubt in my mind that this happened due to the injuries, because I truly believe Ed Davis would have made one of the All-ACC squads had he not gone done with seven games left in the season averaging 13.4 PPG, 9.6 RPG and 2.8 BPG. On a side note, I have to wonder if John Henson had begun to get more playing time if he would have gotten on the all Frosh squad. Then again I can wonder/think about that for as long as I want and it won’t change anything. As far as Deon Thompson and maybe sneaking into the third team All-ACC? It could have happened I think if UNC had been a above .500 team in conference play and heading to the NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately we all know that while these are individual awards the way the team plays as a whole has part in it as well.

EDIT: For all of us that like these types of teams check out the one done by Jim Young of ACC Sports Journal. If you are not following on twitter or reading the site he is the editor on you are missing out on one of the best person & sites when it comes to ACC primary sports (FB & BB).
