Ex Heels in the NBA Summer League 07/11/09

NBA Summer League (Las Vegas)

NBA Summer League (Las Vegas)

With the Orlando Summer League concluded it is time to focus on the other tournament sponsored by the National Basketball Association. While in Orlando Tyler Hansbrough was the only ex North Carolina player to participate (playing with the Indiana Pacers), in this one many more ex Tar Heels will be in action (from five teams). I am going to give you as much feedback from the games where ex Tar Heels are playing, and try to find as many links to those games as well. As far as this post goes, I am going to check out the game from 07/10 and 07/11. Make sure to come back everyday to see how the ex Tar Heels are doing…

Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland Cavaliers

The first (and only) game that has a touch of carolina blue it’s the one between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. For the Cavs we have two ex Tar Heels, one from this year’s draft, Danny Green, and one that has played for Cleveland last year, Jawad Williams. These two ex Tar Heels have one thing in common, they are national champions under head coach Roy Williams. In the game Green had 16 points (5 for 7 ~ 4 for 6 ~ 2 for 2) to go along with one rebound, one assist and a turnover. All of this in 25 minutes of playing time. On the other hand, Williams recorded 14 points (6 for 10 ~ 0 for 1 ~ 2 for 2) with three boards, two assists and two steals in 21 minutes of playing action. In the end it was Los Angeles winning the game, as the took down Cleveland by the final of 88 to 82.
