While Lawson and his Denver Nuggets fell in the first round we can easily say that the freshman point guard had a very good first year in the National Basketball Association. In his first playoff appearance the speedster averaged 7.8 points per game (compared to 8.3 in the regular season), 2.7 APG (3.1) 1.0 SPG (0.7) and 1.3 TOs (1.2) while his playing time was 19.8 MinsPG (20.2). Lawson had two double digit scoring games in the playoffs, but only in his first game in the series with Utah did he get more than five assists (having six in that one compared to 10 the rest of the five games). I have to say that looking back at this season Lawson should become a very good player for the Denver Nuggets as they years go by. He is quick, knows the game and plays with effort and energy every time down the floor. As I looked around today on the internet I found this great YouTube video on another great UNC site, Tar Heel Fan, that shows how the young man’s quickness and effort is going to pay off for the Nuggets in the long run…
