In a post that I should have started a long time ago let me dwell into the D League to check out the two Heels that are playing in it. The first has been there all season long, David Noel, while the second one, Danny Green, just started playing there yesterday. I am going to try to keep up with these two young men from now on, as they are both part of the “Carolina Family” and deserve the same coverage on this site as the other players in the National Basketball Association. In what seems a wild coincidence both of the Tar Heels now in the NBDL play with the Erie Bayhawks (13-22). Jackie Manuel, who has been here all season long, and started in last night’s game against the Dakota Wizards (18-16), got close to 40 minutes of playing action. In that time frame the forward scored 16 points (7 for 11 ~ 0 for 0 ~ 2 for 2) to go with three rebounds, two assists, a steal, a block and a turnover. On the other hand the newest member of this squad, Danny Green, got a bit more than 28 minutes, where he did score 15 points but with a shooting night of (4 for 13 ~ 1 for 2 ~ 6 for 7) to go with five assists, five steals, two rebounds, a block and three turnovers. By looking at the records, what must have been some sort of an upset, it was Erie beating Dakota by six points, with the final score being 114 to 108.
