As we inch ever so close to the new year, meaning more and more bowl games and less and less sleep on the 31st, let’s keep rocking and rolling with the recaps from the National Basketball Association. In this edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) we check out the games from Tuesday, December 28, 2009. In all the NBA had seven games on tab, five of them featured teams with Carolina players on them, one had a head to head match up.Just be warned that as far as results went this wasn’t a good night for the teams with a touch of carolina blue. But I don’t want to spoil anything else, so let’s get going with the recap from 12/28/09…

First game of the night is the head to head match up, as the Cleveland Cavaliers fly east to take on the Atlanta Hawks. A game that was played at an over crowded Philips Arena in front of 20,150 fan (max capacity: 19,445). For the visiting team from C-Town it’s Jawad Williams and Danny Green, where the first one dresses and see no action while the second one isn’t even changed for the game. While for the Hawks we have Marvin Williams, who gets 31 minutes as the starting small forward, scoring 12 points in all (3 for 6 ~ 0 for 1 ~ 6 for 6). The ex team mate of Jawad also has one board, an assist, a block and turns the ball over once on the night. As far as the game went it was visiting Cleveland winning this one, taking down Atlanta by the final of 95 to 84. With the win the Cavs are now 25 and 8 (.757 winning percentage) and leading the Eastern Conference by half a game over the Celtics. The loss drops the Hawks to 21 and 9 (.700 winning percentage), 2.5 games back of the leader.

For the Warriors we should be seeing Brandan Wright, but as we all know by now the young man from Chapel Hill is not going to be on the hardwoods for a while as he recovers from his shoulder surgery. In a very high scoring game it was Los Angeles taking this one by six, as they defeated Golden State by the final tally of 124 to 118. What a night for Manu GINOBILI. Dammed that I had to be at work and just had to miss the game. Glad that I watch the replay and certainly being a fan of his game means there’s just no way that I can miss a post on him. Please check it out.

Back to the game, isn’t this the Spurs team that well knowned throughout this decade. No selfish play and just a whole lotta team work. I surely hope that this what the team was trying achieved all season. If they do, then we do have some hopes to see them going far this season.

About Manu, it comes to no surprise that he was the epitome behind Spurs win today. I just loved every single of passes, especially those back passes one to RJ which involes Tony PARKER in the play.

I pray that we see more of like this in many games to come.
