Finally having caught up with my “Heels in the League” (NBA) post, here is the recap of the games from Sunday, December 13, 2009. Last night the National Basketball Association had five game on their schedule, two of them having a touch of carolina blue. Both of the squads are from the Eastern Conference, one playing in the friendly confine of its building against a sub .500 squad and the other going on the road versus a .500+ team. So, sit back and relax, as I give you this small recap for the games from 12/13/09…

The first game has the Atlanta Hawks playing host to the New Jersey Nets, in a game that was played at Philips Arena in front of 14,015 fans. For the home team we have Marvin Williams giving the Hawks a touch of carolina blue, but the ex national champ for Roy Williams does not play in this one (DNP – Upset Stomach). As far as the game was concerned this one was over and done pretty quickly, as Atlanta rolled New Jersey, beating them by 23 points, with the final being 130 to 107. With the win the Hawks are now 17 and 6 on the season (10-2 at home) for the season. Over at Peachtree Hoops, my number one source for anything Hawks, wrote their recap entitled blogging is hard when you don’t get to complain, which I have to say is a very cool title.

The other game on tap for the night was the one between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, played in front of a crowd that numbered 18,203 at the Ford Center. For the visiting team it’s the duo of ex Heels, Jawad Williams and Danny Green. Green does not even dress, while Williams gets on the court for one minute and has nothing to show for it in this game. As far as the game is concerned it was pretty much a tale of two halves, but in the end it was Cleveland winning this one by a baker’s dozen, with the final score of 102 to 89. With the W the Cavs are now 17 and 7 ( on the road) for the season. Jeff Sack of Slam Dunk Central has the recap of the game, where he says that LBJ Scores 44 And Cavaliers Stifle Thunders Roar In 102-89 Win!
