This is a very small recap for the games for Thursday, November 26, 2009 as there are only two games on the schedule, one of them as a touch of carolina blue. In that game there is an ex Heel on each of the bench. (On a side note I am going to try and get this post caught up as quickly as possible, so please bare with me). But do not fear, as 11/27/09 has plenty of games that include ex players from Chapel Hill. But for, on to the “Heels in the League” (NBA) for the game from 11/26/09…
This game, played at Philips Arena in front of 19,193 spectators, it’s the Orlando Magic taking on the Atlanta Hawks in a game between two very good teams. For the Magic it’s shooting guard Vince Carter, who starts and gets 36 minutes in all. Carter gets close to a double double, scoring 21 points (7 for 18 ~ 3 for 7 ~ 4 for 5) going with nine rebounds, two assists, a steal and three TOs. On the other side it’s forward Marvin Williams, who plays 28 minutes but does not have a great night, scoring seven points (3 for 7 ~ 1 for 2 ~ 0 for 0) to go with three assists and a rebound. In the end, in what was truly a tale of two halves, it’s Orlando beating Atlanta by 17 points, with the final score being 93 to 76. With the win the Magic are now 12 and 4, while the loss puts the Hawks at 11 and 4. At Peachtree Hoops we have a nice recap by HawksDawg, who entitles it Where the Hawks gave you a half to digest dinner, while the Third Quarter Collapse has its recap of the game as well.
