And here is (way late) the second part of the games from Friday, November 20, 2009. If you missed the first part of this recap you can find it by going here. In this half of “Heels in the League” (NBA) we have another four games involving ex players from Chapel Hill (in all 11/20 had eight games with ex UNC players in it). Make sure to come back early tomorrow morning to see the recap of the games from both 11/21/09 & 11/22/09. But for now enjoy this recap of the games from 11/20/09…

The first game from this second half of the recap is the one between the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks, played American Airlines Center in front of 19,871 fans. Once again Sean May suits up for the game but does not play in this one (DNP – Coach’s Decision). I have to wonder how long this will go on for the power forward from Chapel Hill. In the end, in a very tight game, it’s Dallas over Sacramento by a bucket, with the final score being 104 to 102. With the loss the Mavs fall below .500 at 5 and 6 on the season. The second game has the Charlotte Bobcats and the Milwaukee Bucks going at it at the Bradley Center in front of a crowd of 15,578. For the visiting Bobcats we have point guard Raymond Felton, who starts and gets 30 minutes in all. The ex national champ under Roy Williams scores three points (1 for 5 ~ 0 for 1 ~ 1 for 3) to go along with four steals, two assists, two rebounds and four turnovers. When it was all said and done this game went to Milwaukee, as they defeat Charlotte by 7, with the final score being 95 to 88. The loss pushes the Bobcats down to 3 and 9 on the season.

Moving on to the third game of this recap we have the Portland Trail Blazers going to the ORACLE Arena to take on the Golden State Warriors in front of 18,630 fans. The ex Heel for the Warriors, Brandan Wright, is still not dressing for the games and so we have nothing to report on him. As far as the score of the game is concerned, it’s Golden State winning this one, beating Portland by 14, with the final tally being 108 to 94. The win brings the Warriors to a record of 4 and 8.

Finally, it’s the Denver Nuggets heading to the west coast to take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the STAPLES Center in front of 18,155 fans. For the visiting team we see Ty Lawson get 18 minutes off the bench for his Nuggets team. The ex speedster from Chapel Hill scored 12 points (3 for 4 ~ 2 for 2 ~ 4 for 4) to go with two rebounds and a TO. As far as the game went, it was Los Angeles upsetting Denver by the final score of 106 to 99. With the loss the Nuggets fall to 8 and 4 on the season. The Denver Stiffs’ recap is entitled This loss raises a few red flags…, and having watched the game I agree with the title.
