In the next edition of “Heels in the Leauge” (NBA) we are looking at the games from Friday, November 13, 2009. In all the National Basketball Association had nine games on their schedule, six of them had players from Chapel Hill in them, so this is going to be a pretty long recap. Of the six games one has a head to head match up between two teams with a touch of carolina blue on them, plus I have a special video from one of the game of rookie point guard Ty Lawson. So, sit back and relax, as I go through the games from 11/13/09…

First game is the one that has the winless New Jersey Nets going to the Amway Arena to take on the Orlando Magic in front of 17,461 fans. In this one we see the ex Heel and Net player Vince Carter now starting at the shooting guart slot for the Magic. In this one the ex pupil of Dean Smith scored 14 points (5 for 12 ~ 3 for 6 ~ 1 for 1) in 35 minutes of playing time. Carter also added five rebounds, one assist and a couple of turnovers on the night. In the end, in a pretty low scoring game, it is Orlando winning the game and keep New Jersey without a win, with the final score being 88 to 72. With the win the Magic are now 7 and 3 on the season.
