Heels in the League (NBA) 10/29/09

Heels in the League (NBA) 10/29/09As I catch up in my (not so) daily post of the ex North Carolina players in the National Basketball Associatyion, which I call “Heels in the League” (NBA), here is the recap from Thursday, October 29, 2009 action. It was the smalles day of games in this very young season with just two games on tap. However, one of them had a touch of carolina blue and as we all know, be it one or all, if there is a player from Chapel Hill playing there will be a recap of it. So, without any more interruptions, let’s get to this game from October 29, 2009. (Just a reminder, tomorrow I will be doing as much as possible to bring this post up to date, and if I can not fully catch up tomorrow I will by the day after).

In the one and only game with a touch of carolina blue it’s the Denver Nuggets going up against the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Garden in front of 20,218 fans. On the Nuggets’ roster it’s rookie point guard Ty Lawson, who gets 17 minutes off the bench, scoring seven points (3 for 5 ~ 0 for 0 ~ 1 for 2) to going along with two steals, an assist and a rebound. In the end the Nuggets stay undefeated, as Denver takes down Portland by the final of 97 to 94. At Roundball Mining Company (TrueHoop Network) there is their recap of the game, while at SB Nation, Denver Stiffs, think that the game had playoff intesity. Over at Bloguin the Nugg Doctor has it’s own story on the game entitled ‘Melo’s 41 a Thorn in Portland’s Rose Garden
