Another pretty small National Basketball Association schedule yesterday, once again with five games on the slate. In all there were two games with a touch of Carolina Blue, one of them being a head to head match up. That means this edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA), looking at the games from Tuesday, March 30, 2010, won’t be as big as usual, but don’t worry, tonight there is plenty of action in the NBA. As usual, check out the full run down for the night by going to Real GM‘s recap or ESPN‘s Scoreboard Page. So, sit back and relax as we go through this edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) for the games from 03/30/10…

The first game of this recap is a head to head match up between teams that both have ex UNC power forwards, are in the opposite conferences and are both not going into the playoffs this season. It’s the Sacramento Kings (WC 4th Pacific) heading to the Conseco Fieldhouse to take on the Indiana Pacers (EC 4th Central), played in front of a crowd of 13,339. This is the second (of two) games between the teams, with the first encounter going to Sacramento. For the visiting squad from the West Coast it’s should be ex UNC big man Sean May getting some playing time, however the power forward does not play in this one (DNP – Sore Right Knee). On the other side we should see rookie lottery pick Tyler Hansbrough, but he too won’t be taking to the court due to his injuries. In the end it was Indiana winning the game, defeating Sacramento by the final of 102 to 95. With the W the Pacers are now 28-47 on the year (.373 winning percentage), 20-16 at home (.555 winning percentage) and are tenth in the East, 9.0 games behind the last playoff team. The loss drops the Kings to 24-51 on the season (.320 winning percentage), 7-32 on the road (.179 winning percentage) and are eleventh in the West, 21.0 games behind the playoff run.

The second (and last) game of this recap is another East/West match up with the Los Angeles Clippers (WC 3rd Pacific) heading to the Bradley Center to take on the Milwaukee Bucks (EC 2nd Central), in a game that had an attendance of 14,321. This was the second (of two) games between the teams, with the first game going to LA. For the home team it’s veteran guard Jerry Stackhouse (33 Games: 20.1 MinsPG ~ 8.2 PPG ~ 1.7 APG ~ 2.4 RPG), who comes off the bench and plays 24 minutes for the Bucks. In that time frame the shooting guard scores 16 points (7 for 10 ~ 2 for 4 ~ 0 for 0) to go along with three rebounds, three assists, two TOs and a +8 pts differential. In the end it was Milwaukee winning this one, beating Los Angeles by 18 points, with the final score being 107 to 89. With the victory the Bucks go to 41-32 overall (. winning percentage), 26-11 at home (. winning percentage) and are fifth in the East, 6.5 games behind the fourth place team and 1.5 games ahead of the sixth.
