Trying to get a step up on my daily post called “Heels in the League” (NBA) I am going to work on the game from yesterday, Sunday, March 14, 2010. The Association had eight games on their slate, half of them had a touch of Carolina Blue. Well, actually those four games had more than just a touch of Carolina Blue as they are all head to head match ups. For those of you that want the complete run down for the day you can check out ESPN’s Scoreboard Page. However, for now, enjoy this edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) for the games from 03/14/10…

First game of this recap is a divisional match up that has the Indiana Pacers (EC 5th Central) going to the Bradley Center to take on the Milwaukee Bucks (EC 2nd Central) in front of 15,107 spectators. This is the fourth (of four) games between the teams with Milwaukee having won all the games so far. For the visiting team it should be rookie power forward Tyler Hansbrough, but as we all know the lottery pick is out for the Pacers due to an inner ear infection and maybe more problems. On the other side, for the home town team, it’s veteran guard Jerry Stackhouse (24 Games: 20.5 MinsPG ~ 8.0 PPG ~ 1.9 APG ~ 2.6 RPG), who comes off the bench for 24 minutes. The shooting guard scored a team high 20 points (7 for 13 ~ 4 for 6 ~ 2 for 2) to go with two boards (both offensive), an assist, a steal, a block and a whooping five turnovers while having a -1 pts differential. In the end, in a pretty close game, Milwaukee clean sweeps Indiana by beating them 98 to 94 in this one. With the W the Bucks are now 36-29 on the year (.554 winning percentage), 23-9 (.718 winning percentage) and are fifth in the East, 15.0 games behind the conference leader and 2.0 ahead of the next squad. While with the loss the Pacers slide to 21-45 on the season (.318 winning percentage), 7-29 on the road (.194 winning percentage) and are second to last in the East, 12.0 games behind the playoff race.
