Heels in the League (NBA) 03/13/10
Once again, due to a lot of RL things, I am once again working on my daily post about UNC players in the National Basketball Association. In this edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) we check out the games from Saturday, March 13, 2010, where there were seven games in all. Of those five of them had a touch of Carolina Blue, none of them were head to head match ups. If you want the complete run down for the games you can check out the World Leader in Sport’s Scoreboard. But for not let’s get going with this edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) for the games from 03/13/10…

The third game of this recap is the one that has the Denver Nuggets (WC 1st NW) going to the FedexForum to take on the Memphis Grizzlies (WC 3rd SW) in a game that was played in front of an attendance of 17,023. This is the third (of four) games between these franchises with the first two games having been split. In this one we should be seeing rookie point guard Ty Lawson, but while the speedster does dress he does not play in this one (DNP – Coach’s Decision) as he is still healing from his shoulder injury of a couple weeks ago. In the end it was Denver beating Memphis in this one by 17 points, with the final being 125 to 108. The victory brings the Nuggets to 45-21 for the season (.682 winning percentage), 17-16 on the road (.515 winning percentage) and are second in the West, 3.0 games behind the conference leader and 0.5 games ahead of the third squad.

And finally we close this out with the game between conferences again with the Golden State Warriors (WC 5th Pacific) playing host to the Toronto Raptors (EC 2nd Atlantic) in what is the first meeting (of two) between the teams this season. The game was played in front of 17,655 fans at the ORACLE Arena. For the home squad it should be Brandan Wright, but as we all know the young forward for the Warriors is not playing as he still recovers from what seems to be a season long injury. In what was an upset Golden State won this one by a dozen, defeating Toronto by the final score of 124 to 112. With the win the Warriors are now 18-47 overall (. winning percentage), 14-19 at home (.424 winning percentage) and are second to last in the West, 20.5 games out of playoff contention.
