Once again way late for this recap for the games from Wednesday, March 3, 2010, which was a jam packed night in the NBA, with twelve games in all. Of those nine of them had a touch of Carolina Blue, with three of them being head to head match ups. As usual, if you are interested in a general run down of the games you can check out Real GM‘s recap for 03/03. Just a reminder, there is no recap for the night of 03/04 as the three games of the night do not have a touch of Carolina Blue in them. But for now let’s concentrate on the North Carolina players for these games, meaning it is time to do my next edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) for the games from 03/03/10…
First game of the night is the one that has the Atlanta Hawks (EC 2nd SE) playing host to the Philadelphia 76′ers (EC 3rd Atlantic), in what is the second (of three) games between these two squads, with Atlanta winning the first one. The game was played at the Philips Arena in front of a crowd of 15,408 (max capacity: 18,750). In this one it’s Marvin Williams (59 Games: 29.8 MinsPG ~ 10.3 PPG ~ 5.1 RPG ~ 1.1 APG), who starts for the Hawks and plays 31 minutes. In that time frame the small forward comes close to a double double as he scores 21 points (8 for 12 ~ 0 for 3 ~ 5 for 6) to go with eight rebounds (2 offensive), an assist, a steal, a block and a TO, while having a +17 pts differential. As far as the game went it was all Atlanta in this one, defeating Philadelphia by 19 points, as the final score was 112 to 93. With the victory the Hawks are now 39-21 overall (.644 winning percentage), 24-7 at home (.774 winning percentage) and are third in the East, 8.0 games behind the conference leader and just 0.5 games ahead of the fourth spot squad.
