In what is going to be a real short recap due to the fact that the NBA only had three games Thursday, January 28, 2010, of which only one had a touch of Carolina Blue. The good news is that the game was a head to head match up between two veteran Tar Heels, who both changed teams in the off season, going to teams that are looking to make it to the NBA Finals. So, sit back and relax as you enjoy this small edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) for the game from 01/28/10…

In the first and only game of this recap we have the Boston Celtics (EC 1st Atlantic) going down south to the sunshine state to take on the Orlando Magic (EC 3rd Southeast). The game was played in front of a crowd of 17,641 at the Amway Arena. For the squad from Bean Town it’s ex UNC big man Rasheed Wallace, who comes off the bench to play for 26 minutes. In that time frame the center scored 17 points (7 for 14 ~ 3 for 6 ~ 0 for 0) to go with three steals, two rebounds and a block while having a -5 pts differential. On the other side, for the Magic, we have shooting guard Vince Carter, who starts and plays 29 minutes in all. The guard does not have a good night, scoring just six points (2 for 13 ~ 0 for 2 ~ 2 for 3) to go with four rebounds (2 offensive), two assists and three TOs. Carter had a pts differential in this one of +4. Thanks to a huge fourth quarter it was Orlando defeating Boston by a duece, with the final score being 96 to 94. With the win the Magic are now 30 and 16 (.652 winning percentage), tied for third in the East, 5.5 games behind the conference leader. While the loss slides the Celtics to a 29 and 14 record (.674 winning percentage), putting them in second place in the East, 5 games behind the leader.
