After a very small slate the day before the National Basketball Association put 13 games on its schedule yesterday, January 20, 2010. Of those over half, eight, have a touch of carolina blue in them, three with Carolina players on both benches. And this is also the first edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) where UNC’s Jerry Stackhouse will be talked about, as he made his debut last night with his team. So, without further ado, let’s get going with this edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) for the games from 01/20/10…

The first game is a head to head match up that is also a East/West battle as the Sacramento Kings (WC Fourth Pacific) come to the east to take on the Atlanta Hawks (EC First Southeast). The game was played in the Philips Arena in front of a crowd of 14,809 (max capacity: 19,445). For the visiting squad has ex UNC big man Sean May, who in this one does not dress and so does not get to play. In that time the ex national champ scores 13 points (4 for 9 ~ -0 for 1 ~ 5 for 5) to go with four boards (2 offensive), an assist, a steal and a turnover. Williams’ pts differential for this game was +18, the best for all the players in this game. As far as the game went, it was Atlanta winning it by double digits, taking down Sacramento by the final of 108 to 97. With the W the Hawks are now 27 and 14 (.659 winning percentage), in third place in the East, 4 games back of the conference leader and 0.5 game in front of the fourth team.
