Once again, due to a huge Friday in real life, I am back one day with the “Heels in the League” (NBA) post. So now I am doing the games from Thursday, January 14, 2010, which were only two, but both with a touch of carolina blue in them. (On a side note, I once thought about doing this post about all the ACC players in the NBA, I am so glad now that I never even tried to begin that). So, without further ado, let’s get going with this small edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) for the games played on 01/14/10…
The first game of this small recap has the Boston Celtics playing host to the Chicago Bulls, in a game that was played in front of a basically sold out arena of 18,624 (max capacity: 18,854) at the TD Garden. For the home squad we should be seeing ex UNC big man Rasheed Wallace, but he is still out and does not play (DNP – Sore Left Foot). As far as the game went, it was Chicago taking care of Boston by a baker’s dozen, with the final tally being 96 to 83. With the loss the Celtics are now 27 and 11 (.710 winning percentage).

And the second game of this post is the Cleveland Cavaliers going up against the Utah Jazz. The game was played at the EnergySolutions Arena with a sold out attendance of 19,911 (max capacity: 19,911). For the visiting team we have the duo of Jawad Williams and Danny Green. As has been the case in the last couple of games Williams gets to see plenty of the court while Green sees none. For the forward it’s 22 minutes of playing time off the bench, where he score 10 points (4 for 6 ~ 0 for 2 ~ 2 for 2) to go with two rebounds, and a steal, while having a +4 pts differential in the game. In the end, in what was a very close game and an upset as well, it was Utah beating Cleveland by the slimmest of margin, winning the game by the final of 97 to 96. With the loss the Cavs are now 30 and 11 (.731 winning percentage).
