A very short recap from the game that was held on Thursday, January 7, 2009. In all the National Basketball Association had one game on its schedule, and that game had a touch of carolina blue. And as we all know by now, be it all of the Heels or just one (like in this case), if there is a hint of carolina blue there will be a recap on The Fifth Corner. So, without further ado, let’s get going with this edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA) for 01/07/10…
The first (and only game) of the night has the Charlotte Bobcats heading north to the mecca of basketball to take on the New York Knicks. In this game, played at Madison Square Garden, there were 19,763 fans, making it a sell out attendance (max capacity: 19,763). For the visiting team from The Queen City it’s guard Raymond Felton, who starts for the Bobcats and gets 40 minutes in all. The speedsters almost gets a double double in this game as he scores 10 points (4 for 14 ~ 2 for 4 ~ 0 for 0) to go with nine assists, four rebounds, four steals and two turnovers. In the end, in a pretty tight game, with a fourth quarter rally it was New York winning this game by four points, defeating Charlotte by the final of 97 to 93. With the loss the Bobcats are 15 and 19 (.441 winning percentage), placing them in eighth place in the Eastern Conference, 11 games back of the leading team, and just 1/2 a game ahead of the ninth place squad.
