As I continue in my quest to catch up with this (not so) daily post about the ex Lady Heels now playing in the pro’s, something I like to call “Heels in the League” (WNBA), today is going to be one of those days that should help me out a lot since I don’t have much on my plate. On this date, June 14, 2009, there were two games and both had teams with a touch of carolina blue on them. Before I give you the run down, let me also say that on 06/15/09 there were no games in the WNBA and so the next “Heels in the League” (WNBA) will be about June 16th. But for now, here is the next issue about the Lady Heels in the WNBA…
In the first game of the night it’s the Atlanta Dream going up north to play against the Connecticut Sun, in the only arena that is built inside of a casino, the Mohegan Sun Arena, in front of 6,429 fans. For the visiting squad it’s veteran guard Nikki Teasley, who starts and accumulates almost 30 minutes of playing time. The ex Heel scores two points on the night, going 1 for 3 from the floor (0-2 from beyond the arc), while grabbing a couple of boards, dishing out five assists and having a steal. Teasley also had a pair of turnovers in the game, but those would not matter, as Atlanta won on the road, taking down Connecticut by the final of 67 to 62.
In the other game of the night with an ex Heel in the game we have the Seattle Storm going east to face the Chicago Sky at the UIC Pavillion, with just 2,681 fans in attendance. For the Storm it’s Camille Little getting the nod at the center position and playing over 25 minutes for her team. In that time frame she scored six points on a 3 for 5 performance (0-1 from 3 pt land), while adding eight rebounds and one assist. The ex Lady Heel also had one turnover on the night. In the end it’s Chicago winning this one, beating Seattle by 7, with the final tally being 64 to 57.
