Last night, at the Quicken Loans Arena, game five of the Eastern Conference finals was played. That means that the Cavaliers were in action, which is Jawad Williams’ squad. And that means it’s time for a recap, in the post I call “Heels in the League” (NBA Playoffs). As you have come accustomed to, in this post there will be a small recap by me, a high light video from ESPN and then as many recap links as I can find of blogs that I follow. And it’s all right here, right now, on the 05/28/09 edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA Playoffs)…
With the game coming back to Cleveland and with LeBron James’ team being down 3-1 this is a win or go home type of situation for the home squad. And as is the case most of the time the leaders show up in these situations, LBJ did just that with a triple double on the night. James came up with 37 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists, but if you been following this series, this is no surprise, as he has been scoring about 40% of the team’s points. As far as Jawad Williams, as most would have figured out by now, did not see any action. But he was able to see a great game from his team mates as Cleveland took care of this one by double digits, defeating Orlando 112 to 102. At Slam Dunk Central Jeff Sack’s title for his post about the game is: “Staying Alive!“, but then goes on to say “trail 3-2″. I guess it all comes down to this: do you think that the Cavs can win 3 in a row? I don’t. At Fear The Sword, a SB Nation Blog, agrees with Jeff Sack, and also begins the title of their recap with the words “Staying Alive!“, but they say “LeBron, with some help, lead the Cavs to victory”. And that is what LBJ needs, some help from his team, if they want to be able to fight for the NBA Title this season. At Talk Hoops Net they have once again their well done recap of Game Five. Over at the blog Waiting for Next Year one of the writers, Craig, says of game five: “Never Say Die – Cavs Extend Series “. I agree with that, but man o man the Bee Gees Saturday Night Fever record cover we could have done without, no?
