And with Cleveland coming back to the hardwoods last night it is time to once again talk about some basketball at the next level, meaning it’s time to once again do my daily post about “Heels in the League” (NBA Playoffs). With a packed house at the Quicken Loans Arena it was time to start off the Eastern Finals, where the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-0 in the playoffs) are hosting the Orlando Magic (8 and 5). For the home squad there is no appearance by ex Carolina forward Jawad Williams. As far as game one of the series the Cavaliers started off well, going up 14 points in the first quarter and 15 at half, thanks to an acrobatic half court shot with time running out (video below). With the only thing to mention for the Magic in the first 24 minutes is that Dwight Howard’s dunk made the shot clock fall out of place over the basket (video below) But this was a game that could be easily defined as a “tale of two halfs” the Magic came back, and when Mo Williams last second shot didn’t hit, Orlando won game one, squeeking out a one point win against Cleveland, with the final being 107 to 106. Over at Talk Hoops Net they have their usual recap of game one of the series. Of course Jeff Sack (Slam Dunk Central) has something to say about the game as well, with the title of the recap being “Magic put spell on Cavs”. At Fear the Sword, a SB Nation blog about the Cavs, they entitle the post “The Morning After: Luck Runs Out”. Over at an Orlando site, Orlando Magic Daily, they say “With win, Orlando Magic prove they’re legitimate NBA title contenders”. Dime Magazine have something else in mind when it comes to game one, they believe that the Orlando Magic stole it. Make sure to check out all these links, they are good read.
