In this issue of “Heels in the League” (NBA Playoffs), which is a day late due to RL and the site having problems, is for May 3rd. Later today I will have the post for yesterday, which won’t be too long, since there were no ex North Carolina players in it. However for this edition there were two games and both had a touch of carolina blue in them. One is game seven of round one and the other is game one of round two, one with a good outcome and the other not so much if you are a Tar Heel fan. But let’s get this edition of “Heels in the League” (NBA Playoffs) going and see who did what for 05/03/09…
In the first game it’s fourth seed Atlanta Hawks hosting fifth seed Miami Heat at the Philips Arena for the last game of the series. While the ex Tar Heel, forward Marvin Williams, is not on the field due to an injury. However, fortunately for him and his team mates, it’s Atlanta defeating Miami by the final of 91 to 78. With that the Hawks move on to face the Cavs, and will have the services of ex Heel Williams in round two.
The second match up is game one of the series between the sixth seed Dallas Mavericks and second seed Denver Nuggets, played at the Pepsi Center in the mile high city. For the Mavs ex UNC Jerry Stackhouse is a no go (as he has been for most of the year), and for the team itself it was a no go as well as Denver beat Dallas by the final score of 109 to 95.
