Last night’s NBA Playoff platter only offered up two games in all, which by the way our new Pick Em Extrodinaire Jimmy the Net Sports Geek picked both correctly. One of them featured a touch of carolina blue, which means today it’s time to get the daily recap, which here on The Fifth Corner we call “Heels in the League” (NBA Playoffs). Jimmy the Net Sports Geek has picked the game for tonight as well, but that isn’t what we are concerned about right now. What we are talking about is the games involving the ex Tar Heels from April 29th…

In the only game of the night with a touch of carolina blue it’s the fifth game between the fifth seed Miami Heat and the fourth seed Atlanta Hawks, who were a six points favorite. In front of 19,051 fans at the Philips Arena the Hawks played without their forward (and ex UNC and NCAA national champ) Marvin Williams a very good game. The good game by the home team, combined with the fact Dwayne Wade not being a full strength, made it so that Atlanta won this one by double figures, defeating Miami 106 to 91. The Hawks now go back to Florida for Game Six, where they could close out the series. Over at Peachtree Hoops they say that this game was about blowouts, the little things and Wade is a faker, sounds like you need to read that! While at Slam Dunk Central Jeff Sack breaks entitles his piece “High Flying Hawks cool down Heat“, and that piece is worth reading as well. Over at the Talk Hoops Net Ben York has the usual recap of the Heat/Hawks game, and of course how can we let this post go without the “Victory Bullets” from hawksdawgs. Finally, over at Larry Brown Sports there is a clip of the game where the Hawks announcer Steve Holman mocks Dwayne Wade, you can listen to it here and judge yourself how good/bad it was.
