Last week, with the Chicago Pre Draft Combine, began the new journey for the four Tar Heels that will end up in the NBA next season. Today is the second step of that journey for Carolina’s swingman Danny Green. He, along with several other players, including arch rival Gerald Henderson from Duke and Stephen Curry (Davidson), are to be in Charlotte to work out for the Bobcats’ coaching staff, which we all know is built by part owner Michael Jordan and head coach Larry Brown, who are both Tar Heels. The Bobcats also have two ex Tar Heels on their roster in Raymond Felton and Sean May.
Charlotte has three picks in this year’s draft. In the first round they will have the 12th overall pick, and there it is certain that HC Brown and the rest of the staff aren’t looking at the 6’6″ Green. However, Charlotte will also pick 40th and 54th, and while I am not sure if the ex Heel is going to be there at number fourty, the fact that he is being worked out makes me believe that the young man out of long island won’t fall past the low 40′s. Besides Green for those second round picks the Bobcats brought in for a work out the following players: Toney Douglas (FSU), K.C. Rivers (Clemson) and Garrett Temple (LSU). Which means that out of the six players that were called in by this team four were from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
As I do with any of the Tar Heels making a move/change I wish the best of luch to Danny Green as he enters the next chapter of his life.

Would be a smart pickup for Charlotte. Even if Green never played a minute (not likely) he would be worth every penny as a good-will ambassador.
