Green could know his future shortly
Danny Green’s future should be known by late this weekend as the Cavaliers and center Zydrunas Ilguskas can beging their negotiation to have the big man back in C-Town. As we all know in order for this to happen the Cavs will have to take someone out of their roster and the three possible players are: Danny Green (rookie – $ 457,488), Darnell Jackson (2nd year – $ 736,420) or Sebastian Telfair (5th year – $2.5 Mil). I have to admit, reading the small online article from The Akron Beacon Journal there is a quote by the ex Tar Heel and national champion, who is focused on getting better by taking extra practice before and after games, that shows me he has truly grown up a lot:
“Honestly, I’m not really worried about that right now and I don’t have any control over what happens,” Green said. “All I can control is what I do.”
I definitely hope that it’s not Green to leave the Cavs, but between what he said in his quote and the fact that he is working more and more to get better I have to believe that he is going to find employment somewhere, be it in the NBDL or overseas for the remainder of the year and then have a shot at playing in the NBA once again the coming season. As I do with all the Heels let me wish all the best to Danny Green as he awaits his next step in this chapter of his life.
