Good Morning Tar Heels 06/30/09
While this was supposed to come out this morning real life came into play, the domain not working well and finally, when it was all ready, my monitor decided it was time to go, and so way late, here is the next edition of “Good Morning Tar Heels”. As usual there are plenty of good links from great sites that are friends to The Fifth Corner, as well as a couple of shout outs to bloggers, posters or web sites about North Carolina. Make sure to check all these posts out, since they are all worth it. So, without further interruptions here is the next edition of “Good Morning Tar Heels”…
Some UNC shout outs:
First one to Sarah. A die hard Tar Heel fan, who can be followed on her Twitter page. She is just back from her vacation, so I am not sure if I should be jealous or feel bad for her!
The next one is for the web site Tar Heel Fan, who is as good as it gets when it comes to UNC bloggers. Great insight by a very good blogger. Be it football, basketball or even baseball, the Tar Heel Fan is updated on a daily basis and offers great points on any and all things Carolina.
Last one is for the Inside Carolina, the UNC web page for Scout.com. It has both great articles by their writers as well great discussions in their web boards. If you are a Tar Heel it’s a place you need to check out.
The Links:
First one from Detroit4Lyfe and his take on soccer. D4L likes soccer, which means between him and me are the two non soccer blogs that like soccer! Goooooooaaaaallllll !!!they are big in Asia!
InGameNow tells us that while it seems that the Oakland Raiders have been losing their prestige in the National Football League,
In a piece that is well worth while reading, Style Points talks about how 106 sportswriters have tested positive for sanctimony. Check it out and draw your own conclusions. Mine is that this was excellent!
Paneech reminds me of something I didn’t want to think about. Ramirez will be back with the Dodgers this Friday. Personally I don’t like the 50 games being really 40, and I don’t like how all of this played out. But I did like the post by Paneech!
The king of Videos Ethan (NESW Sports) has another great video and post about the Top 10 movies that make men cry. And while I am a true Tar Heel and believe I am a man I have no problem saying I did cry during the movie “Rudy”. Not at the end though, but when the care taker tells Rudy about how he was a player and how he “owed nothing to anyone but himself”. Great movie and great post by Ethan! And yes, I also did cry in Brian’s Song.
At Fansided Adam does a piece about the Indiana Pacers, and of course in it he talks (one sentence in all) about Tyler Hansbrough. The sentence isn’t the most positive, but since we talked about this (via Twitter) I thought it is worth while for all of you to make your own opinion.
A picture says a 1,000 words. Over at Predominantly Orange they do just that every week. In this week’s edition of their Image of the Week, a look at one of the many football players that was coached by Ed Thomas, who was gunned down by one of his ex players. Whether you are a Broncos fan or not, the picture and the words are a must see!
And I had to put this one in here since I am a recruiting fanatic. Over at Bootleg Sports they have a post about the 13 year old that has committed to Tennessee. Having been one that went through the process I am going to say this: kids enjoy high school and worry about committing to any school when the time comes, and 13 yrs old is not the time!
