This week has not begun well for blogging as real life has put plenty of obstacles in the way (and while I am blogging right now, it’s not to be said that more obstacles will be coming). One of the things that I have not been able to do because of this is my daily link dump called “Good Morning Tar Heels”. Today I am hoping to be able to get back on track with this as well, and hopefully keep it a daily post. As you know this is the post where I give shout outs and links to both UNC sites and sites that are friends with The Fifth Corner. Once again, let me apologize, and give you this edition of “Good Morning Tar Heels”…
First off, here are the birthdays for today:
Al Wood, who is fifty today, played basketball at UNC before being drafted by the Atlanta Hawks (4th overall) in the 1981 draft. Wood, a 6’6″ guard/forward, played for four different teams in his six years in the NBA. Happy birthday to you Al!
Jack Wooten, who is now 22 years old, played on the team that just brough home the national title. Wooten played on the junior varsity for two years before joining head coach Roy Williams on the main squad. All the best to this young man as he approaches the next chapter of his life. Happy birthday Jack!
Then, a couple of shout outs UNC style:
To James of Tar Heel Times, which to me is the best source to get articles about the Tar Heels. Check out his site and the forum as well, it’s well worth it.
One of the newer sites about North Carolina is “Triumphant Tar Heel” and it’s definitely worth a look as they have good reads in there.
Last, but not least, the linkage:
As usual when I check out the NESW Sports site there is always some great stuff, such as the “The Interweb” (which Ethan posts every Tuesdays & Thursdays). Along with the video that I love where Greeny out throws Golic from the mound (again).
Over at Detroit4Lyfe (part of the Bloguin Blogs) take on the flies, well, let’s say he talks about what has happened between Joba Chamberlain and flies. Stop scratching and check it out, or go to Ball Hype or Reddit to see the story. Make sure to bring some bug spray!
Living in central New York when I see a post that says “Who do Eagles fans want to see at the QB position” you know I am going to link to it. This one is by Sports2Debate, who always have great debates going on at their site.
Zoner Sports has a new nicname for LeBron: Baby. Have the stunts he pulled, I can not argue with Zoner.
And talking about LBJ, from Paneech, a great post that is entitled: “Why the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Orlando Magic“.
(Make note: this is a gambling post) Here is a post about the odds for the NBA Championship.
