Garrett Reynolds signed by the Falcons

Garrett Reynolds

In a story that I missed when it first came out about another ex Tar Heel, the Gainsville Times reports, with a tiny online clip, that UNC offensive lineman Garrett Reynolds, as been signed by the Falcons, who drafted him in fifth round of this year’s draft. Glad to see that another ex Heel is now going to be in the professional ranks, which is great for both the player and the university. Let’s face the facts, the reason why UNC is a power house in college basketball is because they win and because head coach Roy Williams and his staff get the players to the next level. If this happens on the gridiron as well you have to believe that the football program has no choice but to move upward.

This is what was said in the article:

Reynolds, 6-7, 310 pounds, was voted a second-team All-ACC selection by the Associated Press and a first-team all-conference pick by The ACC Sports Journal following his senior season at the University of North Carolina. He competed in 45 games on the offensive line (starting in 31) and was the starter for his junior and senior campaigns. Reynolds’ size, agility and work ethic allowed him to be consistently graded out as the Tar Heels’ top offensive lineman.

As I do with all other Tar Heels let me congratulate Garrett Reynolds and wish him all the best as he begins his career in the National Football League.
