Ed Davis
While we all knew that it was just a matter of time, today the Toronto Raptors made it official and signed Ed Davis to his first (of what we hope many) professional contract. From what I read in this article by NBA.com the deal has the power forward from North Carolina under contract through the 2011-12 season with two more years to follow (as team options). The financial terms of the rookie scale contract were not released, but as I said in my interview with @Nat77 on her awesome site “Heels on Hardwood” what will make the difference for the young man in the beginning has to be his defense, which can keep him on the hardwoods as his offensive skill improve. But for now let’s congratulate Davis on this and wish him all the best as he prepares himself for the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and then the real season.
