AP & Coaches Polls are out…

Top 25

Top 25

In both the Coaches’ Poll and the AP’s Poll North Carolina has broken through the Top 20, finding their place as the 19th team in both polls. Funny that in the Coaches’ Poll they are one spot ahead of Notre Dame, while in the AP they are one behind the Fighting Irish. Once again the ACC comes in with four teams in the Top 25 (in both polls). For the AP its: Va Tech (14), Ga Tech (15), UNC (19) and Miami (Fl) (20), while in the Coaches’ Poll the breakdown is as follow: Ga Tech (13), Va Tech (15), UNC (19) and Miami (Fl) (22). FSU, Clemson and Boston College received votes in both the polls.

The ACC

The ACC

After a weekend where the Atlantic Coast Conference took very severe hits (the worst two being Duke and Virginia losing to Division IAA teams), being able to say that four teams are still in the Top 25 and three more are in the “others receiving votes” might just be the only good news to talk about today, with the exception of maybe the game between Miami and FSU last night. However I am still pretty positive that the conference as a whole will be a lot better by the end of the season, as the ACC has plenty of young stars on the rise.
