After the great run that North Carolina had this year, culminated by a national championship, I thought it was time to go looking around at some of the NBA mock drafts to see what they think about the “Fantastic Four” and their position in the NBA draft. Be forewarned: we know that mock drafts and the so called experts are all great things to look at, but for the players, until they hear their names called they will not know where they will end up. Anyways, here are the latest mock drafts that I found and what they say about the Tar Heels:

Most of the mock drafts seem to be pretty much in line with the same kind of thinking. Of course there will be always some exceptions, but right now there seems to be pretty much a set pattern for the most part. Ty Lawson seems to be right at the “lotter pick” mark, and will probably go no lower than the half way mark of the first round. By the way, where do you think Lawson should go? Let me know by going to vote. Tyler Hansbrough seems to have become a permanent fixture in the bottom half of the first round pick, which is basically what Wayne Ellington seems to have become as well. Danny Green seems to be looked at an early second rounder.
As far as what I think goes. I believe Lawson can get into the lottery picks if he can show to the scouts/GMs that what he did in the NCAA Tournament is going to be the norm for him throughout his NBA career. I firmly believe Hansbrough will go in the low to mid 20′s (higher than what most mock drafts have him at). I also believe, if he substains the same intesity at the next level, that he is going to be a pro for a lot of years to come. I think Ellington is going to elevate his stock some more if he can keep doing what he proved he could do in the Big Dance. Lastly, I think that Green will go in the second round, mostly because he is a senior and people know he is staying in the draft whether he is in the low 30′s or high 40′s picks.
*This site has Ed Davis going fifth, but from all I am hearing/reading the UNC freshman seems to want to stay at Chapel Hill at least one more season.
