All Star voting has a couple of ex Heels in it

The National Basketball Association released the first round totals of the 2010 NBA All-Star Game votes a couple of days ago. While I am not big on saying if the system for the All Star games work or not, I have to admit that seeing that seeing Tracy McGrady being a starter when he has not played one game in the regular season makes no sense whatsoever! Over on the other conference seeing Dwayne Wade being ahead of LeBron James was also a bit of a surprise. In all, it’s still a long way before the final teams are set, but for now there is plenty of little tidbits to pick up from the first voting.
But this is a UNC blog, so let’s check out what is going on with the ex Heels and the voting. In the Eastern Conference Vince Carter is in second place as far as guards are concerned, trailing Wade by close to 400,000 votes. Still in the same conference we have Rasheed Wallace being in sixth place for the centers, and having no shot at coming close to catching Dwight Howard & Shaquille O’Neal, but only 30K votes behind third place Andrea Bargnani. On the other side we do not have one ex Tar Heel in the race. Here is the full listing of the voting for now…
