`09 banner to be unveiled at the Alumni game

UNC 100 CelebrationI have already written about what is going to happen in the Dean Dome on September 4th. If you didn’t read about it, basically it’s the beginning of the celebration of 100 years of basketball at North Carolina. And I know I told you about the many ex Tar Heels that will be playing on the court that has had so many talented players on it, including the possibility that the 2009 and the 2005 team might match up. From the official web site of UNC Athletics comes word of something else that is going to make this day special: the `09 national champions banner will be unveiled.

UNCBBAs we know several of the ex Heels on that squad will be playing in the alumni game. At the half of this game the whole 2009 team will be honored and they will join the other four teams that are on the rafters of the Dean Smith Center. Still from the UNC Athletic site there are tickets left for the event and you can purchase them online. As I said in the first post about this event, if you are a Tar Heel and can get to Chapel Hill for this event (which will begin at 8:00 p.m. EST) you should go at all cost. It’s a way to see both the present and the past of the basketball program, and how much great talent has come through. And when you see the past and the present of UNC basketball, you know that under head coach Roy Williams the future is going to be just as bright.

    Hello,
My name is Stephanie Girard and I am working to set up the Raycom Sports’ ACC blog network (www.raycomsports.com). The network will be launching this fall and we would love for you to be a part of it from the beginning. It is a great chance to introduce your opinions, writing style, and links to your site to the Raycom audience.
I would love a chance to discuss this opportunity with you personally. Please let me know your availability and the best way to in touch with you. Then, we can go over the particulars of the network. I have also included a little more information below. Thank you, in advance, and I look forward to talking with you!
    Regards,
    Stephanie Girard

    BLOG INFO:
Raycom Sports is launching a blog network this fall. This network of blogs will feature all the teams of the ACC. We are looking for passionate sports bloggers to provide content for our new team blogs. This is a chance to work with your fellow fans and connect to your school’s fan base.
This is not a paying gig but it will give you exposure to the entire RaycomSports.com audience, a chance to hone your skills, and the ability to connect with other passionate ACC fans. The best content will be featured on RaycomSports.com video team page, our twitter feed, weekly email, etc.
Please note: The platform here is WordPress. Familiarity with it is useful, but not essential.
What we are looking for in a blogger:
    • Original content. We would prefer not to have reposts from your blog. Posts don’t have to be too long. Just passionate and well-thought out.
    • Commitment: We are looking for at least one post a week. Again, the posts do not have to be war and peace. They can be short, they can be long…..
    • Passion for your team in particular and the ACC in general.
    • Linking back to your site is okay, as long as it’s relevant.
